Procedures in this section only apply to the case in which you prepare spare nodes to a storage cluster for which restoring configuration completes.
For details about how to prepare spare nodes, see Installing the storage software and Setting up each storage node of Reinstalling the storage cluster.
Also, you can use the physical server (that was used as a storage node during configuration backup) as an installation target.
For installation, use the storage software installer file (.iso) that you obtained from customer support in step 11 of Preparing reinstallation of a storage cluster in Reinstalling the storage cluster.
CAUTION:
- Server models other than those described in the VSP One SDS Block Bare Metal Hardware Compatibility Reference do not support the spare node function, and therefore might not allow for spare node switchover. For details about server models that support spare node switchover, see the VSP One SDS Block Bare Metal Hardware Compatibility Reference.
- For the spare nodes to be prepared after configuration restore completes, match the installation location of each component with the location before hardware replacement for configuration restore.
