This product is a storage software product that builds and sets up a virtual storage system from multiple virtual servers.
The cloud model of VSP One SDS Block supports operations on a virtual machine in the public cloud (AWS).
To reference the system configuration diagram of VSP One SDS Block for the cloud model, see System configuration of VSP One SDS Block (Single-AZ configuration) or System configuration of VSP One SDS Block (Multi-AZ configuration).
The following shows the main components forming VSP One SDS Block.
- Compute network
- A network between the compute nodes and the storage nodes. It is used for input and output of user data. Selection to use either IPv4 addresses only (single stack) or a combination of IPv4 and IPv6 addresses (dual stack) is available.
- Compute node
- A node that runs the application and instructs I/O of user data to the storage node.
- For the compute node installation and connection procedures, see the VSP One SDS Block System Administrator Operation Guide.
- Control network
- A network between the controller node and the storage nodes. It is used for VSP One SDS Block management operation. Only IPv4 addresses are used.
- Controller node
- An access node used for operating VSP One SDS Block. For more information, see About the controller node.
- Internode network
- Network between storage nodes. It is used for communication of user data and management information between storage nodes. Only IPv4 addresses are used.
- Storage node
- A virtual server that makes up VSP One SDS Block (EC2 instance). For information about the internal configuration of the VSP One SDS Block, including storage nodes, see Internal configuration of VSP One SDS Block.

Tiebreaker node
A storage node that has only the role of a cluster master node in Multi-AZ configuration. No storage controller is deployed. Also, this node has neither compute ports nor drives.
