About the controller node

The controller node is used to operate VSP One SDS Block and is required for the following processing or operations.

• VSP One SDS Block Administrator operation

• REST API operation

• CLI operation

• VSP One SDS Block installer operation

In the controller node, use a console where you can run commands to use REST APIs and CLI. If the OS of your controller node is Windows, use command prompts. If the OS is Linux, use the Linux terminal. For more information, see the VSP One SDS Block REST API Reference and the VSP One SDS Block CLI Reference.

VSP One SDS Block Administrator is a software product that lets you easily verify the status and total configuration of VSP One SDS Block and information about individual resources. VSP One SDS Block Administrator is easy to navigate and offers fast response times. You can also use the VSP One SDS Block Administrator to register compute nodes and create volumes.

The VSP One SDS Block installer is software used to perform the following operations for VSP One SDS Block.

• Adding storage nodes

• Replacing storage nodes

• Exporting configuration files
