This section describes how to log in to and log out from the console interface.
-
Required role: Security or Service
-
The user must be permitted to use the console interface (isEnabledConsoleLogin is enabled).
-
(Bare metal) Log in to the iLO web interface window
on the storage node, and then connect to the iLO remote console (HTML5
Console).
(Cloud) Connect to the EC2 serial console of the EC2 instance.
-

layout configuration screen, which indicates the current keyboard
layout, appears.
If you accept the current setting, you can skip this step. Go to the next step.
To change the setting, select Select keyboard layout, and then press the Enter key.

-
When the login prompt is displayed, enter the user ID and password to log
in.
If login is successful, the top menu screen of the console* is displayed.
*For the bare metal model, the Storage node console top menu screen is displayed. For the cloud model, the Storage node VM console top menu screen is displayed.
Note:(Cloud) If the login prompt does not appear after approximately ten seconds after connecting to the EC2 serial console, enter Ctrl+U, and then press the Enter key on the console.
-
(Bare metal) To log out, on the Storage node console top menu screen, use the down
arrow (↓) key to select Logout, and then press the
Enter key.

CAUTION:-
Do not forget to log out when you have completed your work in the console interface.
(Bare metal) If you exit the iLO remote console (HTML5 Console) without logging out, you will remain logged in. If you access the iLO remote console (HTML5 Console) again in this state, the logged-in screen might be displayed.
(Cloud) If you exit the EC2 serial console without logging out, you will remain logged. If you connect to the EC2 serial console again in this state, the logged-in screen might be displayed. After you disconnect from the EC2 serial console, the process of terminating the session to allow a new session takes approximately 30 seconds.
-
If you leave the screen while operating the console interface, log out.
(Bare metal) When multiple users make a connection to the iLO remote console (HTML5 Console), iLO displays a dialog notifying them of the simultaneous connections. You can use the dialog to deny connection from a subsequent user. However, if no action is taken, subsequent users will be allowed to connect, and the logged-in screen might become operable by them.
(Cloud) If more than one user connects to the EC2 serial console, the EC2 serial console displays an error message stating that simultaneous connections are not allowed. Only one active EC2 serial console connection is supported per instance. After you disconnect from the EC2 serial console, the process of terminating the session to allow a new session takes approximately 30 seconds.
-
If no key operation is performed for 30 minutes, the user is automatically logged out.
-
(Cloud) An EC2 serial console connection typically lasts for one hour unless it is terminated. However, when AWS system maintenance is performed, Amazon EC2 serial console session is terminated.
