You can add rules to an existing policy to define or refine access controls for resources. Rules specify actions, conditions, and permissions that shape how resources are accessed and managed.

To add a new rule to a policy:

  1. From the navigation pane, select S3 > Buckets.
  2. Click a bucket's name or its View button to select it.
  3. Click the Properties tab.
  4. Click the Expiration Lifecycle tab.
  5. Click Add Rule.
    The Add Rule page appears.
  6. Enable and configure the rule(s) you want to add.
  7. When finished, click Save.
    A confirmation message appears and the rule is added to the selected policy's Rules table.
  8. From the Rules table, select the rule(s) you want to add to your policy using the checkbox column.
  9. Click Update.
    You are returned to the Buckets page and your rule is applied to the policy.
