In the event of data corruption, you can use the snapshots to restore the data of a specific volume to a specific point in time.

  • Obtain the following:
    • Server name
    • Volume name
    • Date and time when the snapshot was created
  • Make sure that the user performing the procedure is assigned the Storage Administrator (Local Copy) role.
  1. From the navigation tree, select Storage > Servers. If you are not using VSP One Block Administrator to manage servers, from the navigation tree, click Storage > Volumes, and then go to step 3.
  2. From the inventory of servers, click the server name to open the server details page.
  3. From the inventory of volumes at the bottom of the details page, click the volume name to open the volume details page.
  4. On the Snapshots tab, display the inventory of snapshots, select the check box for the snapshot of the date and time to be restored, and then click Restore from Snapshot in the action bar.
    Note:

When processing to restore a volume is complete, the status shows as In Sync or Completed.

The data is restored back to the state at the date and time when the snapshot was created.
