You must log in to VSP One Block Administrator.

Verify the following:

  • Make sure that the management client OS and browser requirements have been met.
  • Make sure that the pop-up blocker is disabled in the browser settings.
  • Protocol

Specify a valid protocol in the storage system settings.

For SSL communication, use https. For non-SSL communication, use http.

  • IP address of the storage system

Specify the IP address (service IP) set in the maintenance utility.

  • Username
  • Password
Note:
  • If you use the Microsoft Edge browser and the period of inactivity exceeds a certain length of time, you are logged out from the VSP One Block Administrator session. Either turn off the sleep tab function, or add VSP One Block Administrator to the sites for which the sleep state is not applied.
  • For details on the TLS versions and cryptographic algorithms (cipher suites) that can be used for SSL communications, see the System Administrator Guide.
  1. Open a web browser and specify the following URL:
    protocol://IP-address-of-storage-system/
    Note:

If the web browser repeatedly fails to open, close all active browser windows, and then clear the web browser cache.

If the web browser fails to open even after you clear the cache, start the maintenance utility by specifying the following URL, and then check for alerts:

    protocol://IP-address-of-storage-system/MaintenanceUtility/

To check for alerts, log in to the maintenance utility as a user for whom the Support Personnel (User) role has been assigned to the user performing the procedure.

  2. Enter a user name and password, and then log in.
    Note:
    • Use the following account when logging in for the first time:

      User name: maintenance

Contact your administrator for the password.

    • If the login fails and a message appears requesting you to change your password, change the password in the maintenance utility and then log in to VSP One Block Administrator again.
    • The account will be locked for 60 seconds after three consecutive unsuccessful login attempts.

If a lockout policy has been set, the system will behave in accordance with those settings. For details, see the section explaining password policies in the System Administrator Guide.

    • If a failure occurs in one ESM that is operating, the operation is automatically switched to the other ESM and you need to log in again. Note that when you click the login button, the following message appears and it might take time before you can log in again:
Server busy. Wait a few minutes and then try again.
