Starting an embedded CCI user session

Use either of the following methods to start an embedded CCI user session on a VSP One Block storage system.

When you open the command console, the built-in CLI starts with the logged-in VSP One Block Administrator user logged in to embedded CCI. The command prompt indicates the serial number of the storage system and the connected controller (1 or 2).

Using VSP One Block Administrator

Procedure

1. Log in to VSP One Block Administrator on the target storage system.
2. In the navigation bar (top right), click the Management Tools (tile) icon, and then click Command Console.
   
   
   
   

Using SSH client software

Use this method to start an embedded CCI user session when you are not able to log in to VSP One Block Administrator or when you are directed to use this method by customer support.

Procedure

1. On the management PC, open a command prompt and connect to the embedded SSH server on the ESM by using the following command:

   ssh <username>@<ssh server>

   • <username>: Enter your user name for logging in to VSP One Block Administrator.
   • <ssh server>: Enter the maintenance port IP address of CTL01 or CTL02 and SSH port number 20522.
2. When prompted, enter your password for logging in to VSP One Block Administrator.
