You can attach an existing volume to a server by selecting a volume from the server page.

  • Obtain the following:
    • Server name
    • Volume name
  • Make sure that the user performing the procedure has been assigned the Storage Administrator (Provisioning) role.
Note:
  • Volumes for which Attached Unmanaged is displayed for the volume type are volumes that were attached by using management software other than VSP One Block Administrator.
  • If a host group (or iSCSI target) that was assigned to a virtual storage machine was added to the server by using another management tool, you cannot attach volumes to the server.
  1. From the navigation tree, select Storage > Servers.
  2. From the inventory of servers, select the check boxes for the servers to be configured, and then click Attach Volumes in the action bar.

You can select multiple servers and attach volumes to those servers at the same time.

  3. Select the volume to attach to the server.
