Note: The following task is not required when you use Web Console Launcher to display the Device Manager - Storage Navigator secondary window.

The code signature using the certificate is signed for the Device Manager - Storage Navigator program to certify the developer of the program. Also, the timestamp* is stamped to certify that the developer of the program signed the code signature during the validity period of the certificate. While the timestamp is valid, you can verify the developer of the program and securely use the program.

Note: The timestamp stores (in a secure format that prevents falsification) the date and time that the code signature was signed. Therefore, by using the timestamp, you can verify whether the code signature was signed during the validity period of the certificate, and whether the program has been safe from falsification after the code signature was signed.

Before the Device Manager - Storage Navigator secondary window opens, the following dialog box appears. (The contents of the dialog box differ depending on the Java version.) To start the Device Manager - Storage Navigator secondary window, click Run.

Note: To check the validity period of the certificate, click More Information > View Certificate Details. Even if the certificate expired, the user can securely use the Device Manager - Storage Navigator secondary window while the timestamp is valid.
