This window appears when you click Change on the SNMP tab of the Set Up Alert Notifications window if the SNMP protocol version is SNMP v1 or SNMP v2c.

Community

Specify the community permitted to execute GET REQUEST, GETNEXT REQUEST, and GETBULK REQUEST*.

To select an existing community name from a pull down menu, clear New.

You can enter up to 180 alphanumeric characters excluding the following symbols:

\ , / ; : * ? " < > | & % ^ '

Do not enter space characters at the beginning or the end of the value.

Requests Permitted
  • All: All users have permission to execute GET REQUEST, GETNEXT REQUEST, and GETBULK REQUEST*.

    If All is selected, the IP address column is not displayed.

  • To select an existing IP address from a pull down menu, clear New.
  • To add an IP address, select New, and then enter an address.
  • IPv4: Enter a valid IPv4 address in the format XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX (where XXX is a number from 0 to 255)
  • IPv6: Enter a valid IPv6 address in the format YYYY:YYYY:YYYY:YYYY:YYYY:YYYY:YYYY:YYYY: (where YYYY is a hexadecimal number from 0 to FFFF). You can also use an IPv6 address in abbreviated format.
  • Minus symbol: Removes the IP address in that row.
  • Add IP Address: Adds an IP address. You can add up to 32 IP addresses.

* Only SNMP v2c supports GETBULK REQUEST.
