VMware ESXi is an enterprise-class, type-1 hypervisor developed by VMware for deploying and serving virtual computers.
As a type-1 hypervisor, ESXi is not a software application that is installed in an operating system. Instead, it includes and integrates vital OS components, such as a kernel.
ESXi 7.0 U2 or later is the minimum required version for deployment on one or more management nodes. The UCP Advisor VMs are deployed on the ESXi 7.0 U2 or later hypervisor or cluster when configured. The following figure shows the KVM console view when logged in to the ESXi hypervisor.
