The following table describes some causes and possible responses in the case of extended copy times.
Cause |
Corrective action |
---|---|
The average MP usage rate of an MP unit to which the P-VOL and S-VOL are allocated exceeds 80%. |
Examine the configuration. For information about checking the MP usage rate, see the Performance Guide of your storage system. |
The HOST I/O Performance option is enabled. |
Disable the option (see Local replica options). |
The S-VOL's drive or external storage performance is lower than the P-VOL's. |
Make the configuration of the S-VOL's drive or external storage the same as the P-VOL's. |
The P-VOL's drive or external storage has an error. |
Review the error and make the necessary correction. |
The S-VOL's drive or external storage has an error. |
Review the error and make the necessary correction. |
The write pending ratio of the MP unit to which the P-VOL and S-VOL belong exceeds 60%. |
Review the configuration. |
The available capacity of the pool to which the capacity saving-enabled P-VOL and S-VOL belong is 120 GB or less. |
Review the configuration. Check if SIMs related to Dynamic Provisioning pool failures, including SIM code 622xxx (The DP POOL FULL) or 62axx (DP Pool actual usage rate full), is reported. If reported, take corrective actions for each SIM. |
The copy multiplexing option for ShadowImage or ShadowImage for Mainframe is disabled. |
Enable the local replica options. For details about enabling local replica options, see Changing local replica options. |
