The following lists the pool types that can be used as a pool when creating Thin Image Advanced pairs. An HDP pool composed of flash media (SSD, SCM, FMD, and QFD) can be used. However, the following pools cannot be used:
- A pool for the S-VOL which is different from the pool for the P-VOL
- A pool that contains HDD media
- A pool that contains external pool volumes
- Thin Image Advanced (that does not use DRS-VOLs) pool
- A pool for which Hitachi Dynamic Tiering or active flash is enabled
- A pool used for Dynamic Provisioning for Mainframe
- A pool for which the Data Direct Mapping attribute is enabled
For details about the requirements for HDP pools, see the Provisioning Guide for your storage system.
Thin Image Advanced that uses DRS-VOLs does not support the setting of "Suspend TI pairs when depletion threshold is exceeded" for HDP pools. If the depletion threshold is exceeded while "Suspend TI pairs when depletion threshold is exceeded" is set to Yes, the Thin Image Advanced pair that uses DRS-VOLs does not change to the PSUE status due to inflow control, regardless of the setting. Note that this setting option is enabled for Thin Image Advanced pairs that do not use DRS-VOLs in the pool.
