Cache management devices are the unit for controlling the cache in association with logical volumes (LDEVs). At least three cache management devices are required for a data reduction shared volume. The maximum number of cache management devices that can be managed in a storage system is 65,280. You can view the number of cache management devices in use and the maximum number of cache management devices in the View Management Resource Usage window in HDvM - SN.
