Perform the following procedure to create a DRS-VOL to be used as the P-VOL or an S-VOL of a Thin Image Advanced pair. You can use only CCI to create DRS-VOLs. Device Manager - Storage Navigator cannot create DRS-VOLs. For details about how to use the CCI commands, see the Command Control Interface Command Reference.

Note: After you create a DRS-VOL, you cannot change it to another type of V-VOL. In addition, you cannot change a V-VOL that is not a DRS-VOL to a DRS-VOL.

You must have the Storage Administrator (Provisioning) role.
Create a Dynamic Provisioning pool consisting only of flash media (SSD, SCM, FMD, and QFD).

Specify the DP pool where you want to create a volume by running the raidcom add ldev command with the -drs and -capacity_saving options to create a DRS-VOL.
Create S-VOLs in the same pool where you create the P-VOL. The size of each S-VOL must be the same as that of the P-VOL.
Command example:

raidcom add ldev -ldev_id 0x010 -drs -capacity_saving compression -
request_id auto -pool 1 -capacity 102400G
```

Use the raidcom get ldev command to check that VOL_ATTR includes DRS.
