You must have the Storage Administrator (Provisioning) role.

  1. Open the External Storage window.
    1. Click Storage Systems, and then expand the Storage Systems tree.
    2. Click External Storage.
  2. On the External Storage Systems tab, click the link for an external system.
  3. On the External Path Groups tab, select a path group.
  4. Click Edit External Path Configuration.
  5. In the Edit External Path Configuration window, select an external path or paths from the Available External Paths list and click Add.
If the External Storage System or the External WWN that you want is not available in the dialog box, click Discover External Target Ports and add the port that connects to the WWN.

The external target ports connected to the selected ports are searched for, and the displayed information is refreshed. If Fibre Channel connections are used for the external paths, when you use DKCMAIN microcode version 90-08-41 or later (for VSP 5000 series) or 93-06-41 or later (for VSP E series), any external target ports to which hosts are logging in are not searched for.

To search for the WWNs of the external target ports to which hosts are logging in, perform the following:

    1. If a host is logging in to the target port of an external storage system connected to a port selected in the Discover External Target Ports window, click OK in the warning message window that is displayed.

The Discover External WWNs widow displays the WWNs of the target ports of external storage systems to which hosts are logging in.

    2. Select the WWNs you want, and then click OK.
Note: iSCSI names cannot be searched for.
  6. To change the priority of external paths, click Raise Priority or Lower Priority in the Selected External Paths list.
  7. Click Finish.
  8. In the confirmation window:
    1. Confirm the settings.
    2. Accept the default task name or enter a unique name.
You can enter up to 32 letters, numbers, and symbols, except these:

      \ / : , ; * ? " < > |

    3. If you want to view the list of tasks for the storage system after clicking Apply, select Go to tasks window for status.
  9. Click Apply to submit the task.
