The following preparations are required for the storage systems in a TrueCopy pair relationship.
- The primary and secondary systems must be set up for TrueCopy operations. For details, see Shared memory requirements. Make sure to consider the amount of Cache Residency Manager data that will be stored in cache when determining the amount of cache for TrueCopy operations.
- Make sure that the storage system is configured to report sense information by connecting storage system and host. It is required to connect the host to both the primary and secondary systems. If dedicated host cannot be connected to secondary system, connect secondary system and host at primary site.
- Install the data path between the primary and secondary systems. Distribute data paths between different storage clusters and extenders or switches to provide maximum flexibility and availability. The remote paths between the primary and secondary systems must be different than the remote paths between the host and secondary system. For details, see Data path requirements and configurations.
