The estimated processing time can be calculated by using the equation:

total-volume*-capacity (GB) / health-check-performance-value (GB/s)

To calculate the health check performance value (GB/s), use the following equations and the values listed in the following table:

  • If performance-per-volume x number-of-volumes* < system-performance, health-check-performance-value (GB/s) = performance-per-volume x number-of-volumes*
  • If performance-per-volume x number-of-volumes* ≥ system-performance, health-check-performance-value (GB/s) = system-performance

where

*These volumes indicate all DP-VOLs whose capacity saving is enabled.

The expected performance might not be achieved depending on the I/O loads on the system, the number of volumes among the controllers, or the volume capacity. Therefore, the health check processing might take about 2 through 5 times longer than the estimated processing time.

Storage system No I/O operations I/O operations are in progress
Performance per volume System performance Performance per volume System performance
VSP One B24 and VSP One B26 0.22 GB/s 0.77 B/s 0.08 GB/s 0.29 GB/s
VSP One B28 0.22 GB/s 1.46 GB/s 0.08 GB/s 0.55 GB/s
Notes:
  • The performance values per volume do not depend on the storage system models because a different process for each volume is applied.
  • The system performance values depend on the number of processors because multiple volumes are processed concurrently.
