You can restore DRD-VOLs whose capacity saving status is Failed by initializing all DRD-VOLs of which deduplication is enabled in a pool.
When you initialize all DRD-VOLs of which deduplication is enabled in a pool, all deduplication system data volumes are also initialized.
Performing this operation deletes the user data of the DRD-VOLs that are enabled for deduplication in the pool. Back up the user data of DRD-VOLs in advance.
During the backup, SIM code 680001 might be reported and the data might not be read. In this case, back up only the data that can be read. Even if the SIM code 680001 is reported, perform this operation (DRD-VOL initialization).
When you initialize the duplicated data, the following DRD-VOLs associated with the pool to be operated cannot be initialized:
- DRD-VOL whose capacity saving setting is Disabled.
- DRD-VOL whose capacity saving setting is Compression.
If you initialize duplicated data in the pool associated with DRD-VOLs for which the capacity saving setting is Disabled and Deduplication Data is Enabled, the capacity saving setting for the DRD-VOLs might become Deduplication and Compression. Therefore, verify the capacity saving setting of DRD-VOLs after initializing the duplicated data is complete.
