Supported functions:

  • Using a DSR-VOL as a primary or secondary volume of a HTI Advanced pair.
  • Expanding the capacity of a DSR-VOL used in a HTI Advanced pair.
  • Reclaiming zero pages of a DSR-VOL used in a HTI Advanced pair.

Not supported functions:

  • Using a DRS-VOL as a pool volume.
  • Using an external volume with data direct mapping enabled as a primary or secondary volume of a HTI Advanced pair
  • Using a deduplication system data volume as a primary or secondary volume of a HTI Advanced pair.

When you create a Thin Image Advanced pair in a Dynamic Provisioning pool, the snapshot data is stored in the DP pool that contains the pair. The HTI Advanced pair and the snapshot data cannot be contained in different pools. Therefore, both Dynamic Provisioning and HTI Advanced can be used in one pool that contains one parity group. If this is the case, the total of the capacity used in Dynamic Provisioning and HTI Advanced is required for the capacity of the DP pool.

If the pool is full in HTI Advanced, enabling Inflow Control guarantees the data on the P-VOL and the S-VOL.
