Interoperability with capacity saving

Supported functions:

• Enabling capacity saving on DP-VOLs.
• Enabling capacity saving on pools.

Functions not supported:

• The V-VOL full allocation function using Dynamic Provisioning.
• The ShadowImage quick restore function.
• Performing operations on a deduplication system data volume using Data Retention Utility, LUN Security, or Volume Shredder.
• Using a deduplication system data volume as a P-VOL or S-VOL of a global-active device pair, a ShadowImage pair, a Thin Image Advanced pair, a TrueCopy pair, or a Universal Replicator pair.
• Using a DP-VOL with capacity saving enabled (DRD-VOL) as a journal volume using Universal Replicator.
• Setting the data direct mapping attribute on a DP-VOL with capacity saving enabled (DRD-VOL) using Universal Volume Manager.
• Using capacity saving on a deduplication system data volume used by Volume Migration.
• Deleting the DP-VOL used by Volume Migration or Volume Shredder with capacity saving enabled (DRD-VOL).
• Initializing duplicated data for the pool containing the DP-VOL used by Volume Migration or Volume Shredder with capacity saving enabled (DRD-VOL).
• Performing operations on a DP-VOL with capacity saving enabled (DRD-VOL) using Volume Shredder.
