CPU power saving optimizes power consumption by monitoring the load in the storage system (which is indicated with IOPS and the MP unit operating rate) and controlling the CPU frequency according to the load. When the load decreases on the storage system, this function decreases the CPU frequency to suppress power consumption (where CPU power saving is switched to POWER_SAVING status). When the load increases on the storage system, this function increases the CPU frequency to accelerate the processing on the storage system (where CPU power saving resumes to NON_POWER_SAVING status). Thus, by optimizing CPU frequency according to the load on the storage system, you can reduce power consumption without affecting business operations.

This function does not have an effect of reducing power consumption in an environment in which the load is always high on the storage system.

You can enable or disable this function (by changing the CPU power saving mode). You can also set the load monitoring period.
