Use the following workflow to back up the encryption keys for your storage system:

  1. Immediately after configuring the encryption environment, back up the encryption keys to the management client* or to the KMS.

    * Set a password when backing up the encryption keys on the management client. This password is required to restore the encryption keys.

  2. Immediately after creating encryption keys, back up the encryption keys to the management client* or to the KMS.
