You can update the pool or the schedule for a planned migration.

If a volume migration is scheduled but is not in progress you can change the selected pool or schedule.

  1. On the storage system detail window, click Migration Tasks.
  2. On the Migration Tasks window, select a scheduled task, then click Edit Migration Task.
  3. Update the Data Reduction Share Setting for the target volumes.
Tip: If you select Auto, the same setting as the source volumes will be applied to the target volumes.
Note: For VSP One Block, if you select Auto for external migration, Data Reduction Share Setting for the target volume will be Enable.

If you want to change the DRS settings type, select Yes for Use the same pool containing the source volume.

Note: You can select Yes for Use the same pool containing the source volume for the following storage systems:
    • VSP One Block with microcode version A3-03-01 or later.
    • VSP 5000 series with microcode version 90-09-25 or later.
    • VSP E series with microcode version 93-07-24 or later.

If you want to choose a different pool, check Change Target Pool and select another pool in the inventory. Click Next.

Tip: If you select Auto, the same setting as the source volumes will be applied to the target volumes. Otherwise, deduplication and compression will be set when the source volume has Capacity Saving disabled and Data Reduction Share Setting is selected as Enable.
Note: For VSP One Block, if you select Auto for external migration, Capacity Saving setting for the target volume will be Deduplication and Compression.

You can also set up cleanup tasks by selecting Shred Source Volumes and Delete Source Volumes. By default, the volumes are neither shredded nor deleted.
