The Volumes window enables you to filter, sort, and edit volumes for a single storage system, and to select volumes for data protection. The window shows tiered, thin, and snapshot volumes. The tiered volumes are DP-VOLs created from Dynamic Tiering pools. The thin volumes are DP-VOLs created from Dynamic Provisioning pools. The snapshot volumes are V-VOLs for Thin Image S-VOLs.

Note: The following volumes are not displayed:

Emulation type is not OPEN_V
Volumes using Cache Residency Manager cache
Volumes encrypted by Encryption License Key feature
Pool volumes
NAS boot volumes
Deduplication system data volumes
Thin/tiered volumes with data direct mapping enabled
Volumes related to the Namespace for FC-NVMe in storage systems with microcode versions where Ops Center Administrator does not support NVMe over FC.

Access the inventory of volumes for a storage system to gain insight into volume size, data protection, and utilization. You can also create volumes, attach existing volumes and perform data protection functions.

Note: Volumes labeled HSA-reserved are created automatically when file pools are created and no procedures can be performed on them in Ops Center Administrator.

Note: The HA Consistency Group column does not display its value if a displayed volume is in a storage system without SVP.

The following actions are available in this window:

To interrupt shredding processes, click Interrupt Shredding and confirm.
If there are Data Protection Alerts, click the tile to view the alerts in the Monitoring tab.
To add volumes on the Create Volumes window, click the plus sign (+).
To view details and attach, update, or delete the volume, click a volume.
To update the volume by editing the name or updating the Capacity Saving setting and command device settings, select a volume, then click the pencil icon. You can also expand the capacity.
To edit the names of multiple volumes and enable or disable command device at the same time, select multiple volumes.
To download the volume details, click the Export CSV () icon.

Select one or more volumes to perform one of the following actions:

To delete volumes, click the trash icon. When you delete a volume, it is removed from the storage system.
To attach volumes to one or more servers on the Attach Volumes window, click Actions > Attach Volumes.
To detach volumes from servers on the Detach Volumes window, click Actions > Detach Volumes.
Note:
- Fibre or iSCSI:
  - If you detach all volumes that comprise a specific host group, the host group is also deleted.
  - The command device configuration will be disabled if all the attached LUN paths are removed.
- FC-NVMe
  - If you detach all volumes that comprise a specific NVM subsystem, the NVM subsystem is also deleted.
To apply data protection on the Protect Volumes window, click Actions > Protect Volumes and select Protect Volumes with Local Replication, Protect Volumes with High Availability, or Protect Volumes with Asynchronous Remote Clone.
Note:
- Command devices cannot be protected. Do not perform this action for command devices.
- Do not specify a DRS-VOL and a non-DRS-VOL at the same time when creating a snapshot.
- Ops Center Administrator cannot create a DRS-VOL for a secondary volume with high availability. If you want to create it, use another management tool.
- Ops Center Administrator can protect volumes with high availability or asynchronous remote clone in an existing replication group with following conditions:
  - P-VOL STATUS and S-VOL STATUS of all paired volumes in the replication group is PAIR.
  - Status of the corresponding replication in Ops Center Protector is OK.
To unprotect a volume, select it, then click Actions > Unprotect Volumes.
Note:
- Ops Center Administrator can unprotect volumes with high availability or asynchronous remote clone in the replication group with following conditions:
  - P-VOL STATUS and S-VOL STATUS of all paired volumes in the replication group is PAIR.
  - Status of the corresponding replication in Ops Center Protector is OK.
- When creating an asynchronous remote clone replication group, any new journals created will be deleted when the replication group is deleted. Use other management tools to check the journal status after the operation and delete any unnecessary journals.
To restore a secondary volume to the primary volume, click Actions > Others > Restore Volume to open the Restore Volume window.
To attach the volume to a storage system to prepare for volume migration, click Actions > Others > Attach to Storage.
To migrate volumes, click Actions > Others > Migrate Volumes.
Note: Command devices cannot be migrated. Do not perform this action for command devices.
To detach volumes from storage, click Actions > Others > Detach from Target Storage.
Note:
- If you detach all volumes that comprise a specific host group, the host group is also deleted.
- The command device configuration will be disabled if all the attached LUN paths are removed.
To shred volumes that have been migrated, click Actions > Others > Shred Volumes.
Select a tiered volume, then click Actions > Others > Update Tiering Policy to update the tiering policy.
To attach like volumes, click Actions > Attach Like Volumes and select Attach Like Volumes with Local Replication, Attach Like Volumes with High Availability, or Attach Like Volumes with Asynchronous Remote Clone.

Click Open the Logical Devices window in Storage Navigator to open the Volumes inventory window and:

Create a Command Device from a volume
Restore a blocked volume

Note: Any changes you make in Storage Navigator might not be reflected in Ops Center Administrator for a few minutes.
