Server group details

Use the server group details window to manage servers and attached volumes in the server group.

Access the server group details window by clicking Server Group ID in the Server Groups tab of the Servers window.

The following server group functions can be performed in this window:

• Select a server group, then click the edit ( ) icon to access the Update Server Group window for a single server group, where you can add or remove servers, and edit the name or description.
• Select a server group, then click the trash ( ) icon to access the Delete Server Group window, where you can delete the server group.

• In the Servers tab, select one or more servers, then click one of the following:
  • Actions > Attach Volumes > Attach Existing Volumes

  • Actions > Attach Volumes > Create, Attach and Protect Volumes with Local Replication

  • Actions > Attach Volumes > Create, Attach and Protect Volumes with High Availability

    See Creating, attaching, and protecting volumes with high availability for more information.

  • Actions > Attach Volumes > Create, Attach and Protect Volumes with Asynchronous Remote Clone

  • Actions > Use Existing LUN Paths

    See Reusing existing LUN paths for more information.

• In the Volumes tab, select one or more volumes and then click one of the following:
  • Click Actions > Attach Like Volumes > Attach Like Volumes with Local Replication.

  • Click Actions > Attach Like Volumes > Attach Like Volumes with High Availability.

  • Click Actions > Attach Like Volumes with Asynchronous Remote Clone.

  • Actions > Detach Volumes.
    Note:

    • Fibre or iSCSI:
      • If you detach all volumes that comprise a specific host group, the host group is also deleted.
      • The command device configuration will be disabled if all the attached LUN paths are removed.
    • FC-NVMe
      • If you detach all volumes that comprise a specific NVM subsystem, the NVM subsystem is also deleted.
  • Actions > Protect Volumes > Protect Volumes with Local Replication to open the Protect Volumes with Local Replication window.
    Note:

    • Command devices cannot be protected.
    • Do not specify a DRS-VOL and a non-DRS-VOL at the same time when creating a snapshot.
  • Click Actions > Protect Volumes > Protect Volumes with High Availability to open the Protect Volumes with High Availability window.
    Note:

    • Ops Center Administrator cannot create a DRS-VOL for a secondary volume with high availability. If you want to create it, use another management tool.
    • Ops Center Administrator can protect volumes with high availability in existing replication group with following conditions:
      • P-VOL STATUS and S-VOL STATUS of all paired volumes in the replication group is PAIR.
      • Status of the corresponding replication in Ops Center Protector is OK.
    • Command devices cannot be protected.
  • Click Actions > Protect Volumes > Protect Volumes with Asynchronous Remote Clone to open the Protect Volumes with Asynchronous Remote Clone window.
    Note:

    • Ops Center Administrator can protect volumes with asynchronous remote clone in existing replication group with following conditions:
      • P-VOL STATUS and S-VOL STATUS of all paired volumes in the replication group is PAIR.
      • Status of the corresponding replication in Ops Center Protector is OK.
    • Command devices cannot be protected.
  • Click Actions > Unprotect Volume to unprotect a volume.
    Note:

    • Ops Center Administrator can unprotect volumes with high availability or asynchronous remote clone in an existing replication group with following conditions:
      • P-VOL STATUS and S-VOL STATUS of all paired volumes in the replication group is PAIR.
      • Status of the corresponding replication in Ops Center Protector is OK.
    • When creating an asynchronous remote clone replication group, any new journals created will be deleted when the replication group is deleted. Use other management tools to check the journal status after the operation and delete any unnecessary journals.
  • Click Actions > Others > Restore Volume.
  • Click Actions > Others > Attach to Storage.
  • Click Actions > Others > Migrate Volumes to open the Migrate Volumes window.
    Note: Command devices cannot be migrated.
  • For tiered volumes, click Actions > Others > Update Tiering Policy > to access the Update Tiering Policy window.
