You can create external parity groups with virtual volumes in external storage systems.

You must attach volumes to storage and discover external storage.

  1. On the dashboard, click the Storage Systems (Storage systems) icon.
  2. Select a storage system.
  3. On the detail window for the storage system, click the External Parity Groups tile. If the storage system has no external parity groups, the tile does not display.
  4. Click the plus (+) sign to open the Create External Parity Groups window. A list of discovered volumes opens.

    Create external parity groups

    You can filter the discovered volumes by mapped status, vendor, or serial number.

  5. Select the discovered volumes and click Submit.

After creating external parity groups completes successfully, you can create or update pools with the external parity groups.
