Create file systems so that you can create shares on Windows and exports on Linux.

Create file pools and virtual file servers.

  1. Click the plus sign (+) on the File Systems window to open the Create File System window.
  2. Select a virtual file server.
  3. Enter a label up to 255 alphanumeric characters.
  4. Select a format:
    • 4K: This choice is best for small block random applications (Virtual Server / Virtual Desktops / Databases).
    • 32K: This choice is best for large block sequential applications (Video, Media, Images) or when the file system is hosted on NL-SAS drives.
  5. Enter an expansion limit of up to 1PiB.
  6. Select a pool, then click Submit.
    A job is added to the Jobs window to create the file system.
