File pool capacity might need to be expanded when the used capacity approaches the capacity of the underlying block pool.

You can also relabel a file pool or change utilization thresholds.

To access the Expand File Pool window do one of the following:

  • In the File Pools window, select a file pool, then click Expand File Pool () icon.
  • In any file pool detail window, click Expand File Pool () icon.
  1. To expand the file pool, select capacity from one of the tiers.
    An untiered file pool cannot be expanded into a tiered file pool.
  2. To change the file pool label, enter it in the File Pool Label field.
  3. To change utilization thresholds, enter it in Utilization Threshold.
  4. Click Submit.
    The job is added to the Jobs window.
