If your environment does not support registering an AD domain by using the Ops Center Administrator security settings, you can use VAM to register the domain.
The Security Administrator role is required.
- Open a browser and enter https://ip-address/vam in the address bar.
- Click the Registered Domains, then click the plus sign (+) to open the Add New Domain dialog box.
- Enter a domain name. A valid domain name is as follows:
- No more than 255 alphanumeric characters. Periods (.) and hyphens (-) are allowed.
- No more than 63 characters between dots.
- Does not begin or end with a hyphen (-).
- Domain names are not case sensitive.
- Enter a TCP PORT.
- Enter an IP address, then click Save.

Log in to
Ops Center Administrator and navigate to
Security Settings. Enter the domain name with the suffix
.hid.local.
Example:
Domain to register: eng-hsa.com. User present in the domain: user_one.
- User registers eng-hsa.com with the previous steps in virtual appliance manager.
- On the Security Settings window enter the domain name: eng-hsa.com.hid.local , username: user_one, and password: user_one credentials.
You can enter Active Directory groups in
Group Name and then map them to roles.
