You can onboard a Software Defined Storage (SDS) system to launch a Virtual Storage Software block and show its capacity information.

  • Verify that the Virtual Storage Software block to be onboarded to Ops Center Administrator has a storage user account with all the necessary roles of security, storage, monitor, service, and resource. You must also verify the storage username and password.
  • Verify the representative IP address of the storage cluster.
  1. On the Ops Center Administrator dashboard, click Storage Systems.
  2. Click the plus sign (+) to add a storage system.
  3. In the Onboard Storage System window, enter values for the following parameters:
    IP Address:
    Enter the representative IP address of the storage cluster.
    User name and password:
    Log in as a user who has all the necessary roles of security, storage, monitor, service, and resource.
  4. Click Submit.

The Jobs tab is updated with a job called Create Storage System.

Wait a while for Ops Center Administrator to add the storage system. Refresh the Jobs tab to verify that the storage system has been onboarded.

The dashboard shows that the number of storage systems has been incremented by one. Additionally, when you click Storage Systems, you can see the newly added storage system in the storage system inventory window.
