You must restore your Ops Center backup archives before you can recover your Ops Center products. Some products require that you restore to the same host, while others let you restore to a different host.

If you used cloud storage for your backups, the system must have an internet connection and be able to communicate with required cloud storage system. You also need the directory path of the repository on the client node that acted as a proxy. This is the directory path you specified when creating the repository.

This task describes the steps to follow to restore your data:

Identify the destination where you want to restore the data set.
Depending on the scenario, you may want to restore data to the original location or a different location.
Ensure that the restore location is prepared to receive the restored data set.
Applications that access the data must be placed in the correct state and sufficient resources must be available to receive the data set.
CAUTION:
The process of restoring data can result in the destruction of some original data that exists on the restore target. Ensure that any critical data is copied to a safe location or is included in the data set being restored.
Depending on the scenario, it may be necessary to suspend any backup policies currently active on the location where the data set is being restored.
Data flows can be deactivated from either the Monitor Inventory or Data Flows Inventory.
Locate the data set to restore.
The Restore Inventory and Storage Inventory track all backups maintained by Protector.
Select the restore method and start the restore process.
It may be possible to restore the data to the original location, a different location, or mount a volume.

The Restore Inventory and Storage Inventory provide functions to restore snapshots.
After the restore process is complete, you can recover your applications by following the steps described in the Hitachi Ops Center Installation and Configuration Guide.
After you recover and restart your applications, resume any existing backup policies for the restored data set. If a new restore location was chosen, you must create new backup policies. Data flows can be reactivated using the Data Flows Inventory.
