There are two versions of the certificate tool:
- Certificatetool This is a UI-based tool that requires a windowing manager to be installed on the Master.
- Certificatetoolcli This is CLI tool that can be run on a ‘windows core installation’ or a non-X11 linux installation.
For installations on Windows and Linux, the certificate tool enables you to:
- Create a self-signed certificate
- Create a certificate signing request
- Install existing certificate
- Common Name (CN) - The fully qualified domain name (FQDN) to secure.
- Organization (O) - The legal incorporated name of your company.
- Organisational Unit (OU) - The department administering the software.
- City/Locality (L)
- State/Country/Region (S)
- Country (C)
- Email Address - A point of contact in your administrative team (optional).
