The Threshold Setting option allows you to alter the threshold on the chart report. You can choose the predefined thresholds or add a new threshold.

You can also add a new threshold from the Manage Threshold window. For more information, refer to Customizing dashboard indicator thresholds.

  1. In the report pane, click the Show report setting () icon.
  2. In the report area, click the Options menu and then select Settings.
  3. In the Thresholds Settings section, select the Enable Thresholds check box.
  4. Select a threshold value from the Threshold column.
  5. To set the new threshold value, from the Threshold column, select Add threshold
    The Add Threshold window opens.
  6. Enter the following details and click Save:
    1. Type the threshold name and set the threshold value.
    2. Configure Advanced options to set threshold direction (Forward or Reverse):
      • For Forward Threshold, the critical threshold should be greater than warning threshold. In this case, the threshold is violated when the metric value exceeds the defined threshold. By default, the threshold direction is Forward.
      • For Reverse Threshold, the warning threshold should be greater than critical threshold. In this case, the threshold is violated when the metric value is less than the defined threshold. Reverse direction thresholds are useful when evaluating metrics like Read Hit for VMAX Volume or Cache Usage. If the Read Hit rate falls below the threshold, the cache is underutilized and performance suffers.
  7. Click Update.
