Health Check shows overall resource health using the size of block, health score, and color representation.

  • The size of the block represents the most relevant attributes of the target:
    • Host: Total Capacity
    • Hypervisors: Total Capacity
    • Storage Systems: Total Capacity
    • Switches: Port count

The grey block in the Health Check view represents that the data is not available or the available data is not sufficient to calculate the health.

  • The resource color and score represent its relative health. The health score is a number between 1 and 100 that provides an objective (numerical) view of the health of a resource. The higher number (max 100) indicates a healthier resource; whereas a resource with a lower health score (closer to 0) represents a less healthy resource. The health score is calculated based on the number of times a metric of the resource has exceeded the warning or critical threshold that is defined for that resource and metric combination. A large number of critical and warning thresholds violation leads to a lower score. Similarly, the health is represented in the color, closer to Red means a lower score and closer to Green indicates a higher score.
  • You can filter the Health Check view based on the health score with slider (available in health score bar). The slider moves in five unit increments. The filtered state is preserved when you click on any resource and move to next page. The filter can be changed on this page.

Note: Filter on health score does not update the table entries.
  • Indicators in the Health Check are also calculated in the similar manner and result is depicted in the traffic light display red (Critical), amber (Warning), and green (Normal) indicators:
    • Green Indicates the resource is healthy.
    • Amber Indicates the resource is reasonably healthy but the user is cautioned to monitor this resource closely.
    • Red Indicates that the resource is not healthy and might require immediate attention.
