On-demand real time monitoring helps you to view the performance of each RAID LDEV and its related resources (RAID MPB and RAID Port) for every second. When you start the On-demand real time monitoring in the Analyzer detail view Health Check, the Analyzer detail view server connects to RAID Agent server (usually, the host on which the Analyzer probe server is installed) to collect live data and shows it in the reports. This real-time data helps you to perform load balancing of storage system resources.

Currently, On-demand real time monitoring is supported only for the RAID LDEV resource type of Hitachi Enterprise Storage. You can also see a few reports of RAID LDEV related resources (RAID MPB and RAID Port).
Note:
  • The real-time data is not saved in the database. However, you can download it as an image (PNG) or CSV data.
  • Only one of the users in the Analyzer detail view can view the On-demand real time monitoring at one time.
  1. In the Health Check window, click the Hitachi Enterprise Storage system block in the Storage Systems section.
The storage systems related section opens.
  2. Click the Hitachi Enterprise tab.
The storage systems are listed in a table.
  3. In the LDEVs column, click the health check indicator icon.

All the LDEVs of the storage system are displayed as follows:

Note: You can also navigate to the LDEVs by clicking health check indicator icon in the Owner column and then clicking LDEVs number in the LDEV column. It helps you to view reports for the LDEVs related to a owner.
  4. Under the Storage_system_serial_number > LDEVs table, select the LDEVs for which you want real-time monitoring.
The Real-time Monitoring button is enabled.
  5. Select the LDEVs for which you want to view the real-time reports.
Note: You can select a maximum of 20 LDEVs.
  6. Click the Real-time Monitoring button.
  7. Click Continue to confirm.

The Analyzer detail view server connects to the RAID Agent server instance for the storage system with the selected RAID LDEV.

A separate browser tab is displayed. It contains a set of pre-defined reports that show the real-time data for the selected LDEVs. It also contains the reports for the related RAID Port and RAID MPB resources.

    Note:
    • The real-time reports display data for a maximum 15 minutes. The reports are refreshed automatically. Do not refresh the window. If you want to restart data collection after 15 minutes, click the Start Data Collection button. The data of the previous session is removed and the reports will run for another 15 minutes.
    • To stop real-time monitoring, click the Stop Data Collection button.
    • The real-time data is not preserved after you close the browser tab. To save the data, you can download the reports as an image (PNG) or CSV data using the button.
