You can schedule the Health Check and Inventory reports.

  1. In the left pane, click Reports > Schedule.
    The Schedule window opens.
  2. When you use the Report Scheduler feature for the first time, the Schedule section is empty. To begin, click Create Schedule.
  3. In the Select Report section, do the following and click Next:
    • Report Type: Select the report type.
      Note:
      • A report type is only displayed if its license is registered in the Analyzer detail view except for the replication report.
      • In the VSM Summary report, the used capacity reported for a VSM will not contain the used capacity of the Basic, External, and TI S-Vol (VVOL) volumes.
      • The Workload Analysis report scheduling is currently supported only for Hitachi Enterprise Storage.
    • Select Target Type: Based on the selected report type, select the target type.
      Note: A target type is only displayed if its license is registered and the data is currently available in the Analyzer detail view.

      For example, if you have a license for Hitachi Enterprise Storage and VMware and only Hitachi Enterprise Storage data is currently available, only Hitachi Enterprise appears in the Select Target Type list for Inventory report.

  4. In the Select Frequency section, select the frequency and duration, and then click Next.
    • One Time: Specify the date range and time to schedule the one time report.
      • The report is generated for the specific date range and the time that you provide. For example, if you select duration of 5 days, the report generation will consider the data for the selected duration.
      • The report generation for this schedule starts immediately after the schedule is created.
      • The Health Check report have a maximum duration of 7 days. The Inventory, Workload Analysis, and Replication reports have a maximum duration of 31 days.
    • Daily: This schedule generates a daily report that includes data for the previous day.

      For example, if you are creating a schedule today, then the report generation will start from tomorrow at 01:00 am Analyzer detail view application time.

    • Weekly: Specify the duration and the report generation day.
      • Report Duration: Select the report days duration within a week. The weekly report contains the data for the selected duration.
      • Report Generation Day: Select the day of the week when the report is to be generated. The report will be generated every week on specified day at 01:00 am Analyzer detail view application time.
        Note:
        • The following examples describe when the first schedule report generation starts:
          • If you are creating a schedule on Friday and select the report generation day as Friday, then the report generation will start from the next Friday.
          • If you are creating a schedule on Thursday and select the report generation day as Friday, then the report generation will start from the next day (Friday).
        • The following examples describe whether the weekly report contains the data of the current week or previous week:
          • If the report duration is from Monday-Friday and the report generation day falls between Monday-Friday, then the report will contain the data for the previous week.
          • If the report duration is from Monday-Friday and the report generation day is Saturday or Sunday, then the report will contain the data for the current week.
  5. (Optional) In the Select Recipients section, enter one or more email addresses to send the report over an email, and then click Next. If you use this option, you will receive an email as soon as the report is generated.
    Note: You must configure the SMTP server details to send reports over email. Refer to the Configuring the SMTP server for the Analyzer detail view.
    • To add multiple email addresses, click
    • To add email groups, click the Add Email Groups link.
    • To create a new email group, click the Add Email Groups link, and then click Create Email Group. Provide the group name and email addresses. (To add multiple email addresses in a group, press Enter.)
  6. In the Summary section, you can review and make changes to the schedule details before creating the schedule. Click the pencil icon to edit the details.
  7. Click Create, and provide a name for the schedule.
  8. The schedule is created and shown in the Schedule section. This schedule will be visible to all the users.
