Configuring the SMTP server for the Analyzer detail view

You must configure the SMTP server to receive email alert notifications.

Note: The Analyzer detail view server supports the following SMTP authentication methods:
  • PLAIN
  • LOGIN
  • The Analyzer detail view server supports TLS or SSL encryption for secure communication with an SMTP server. If you want to use the TLS or SSL encryption, import the TLS or SSL certificate in the Analyzer detail view server. Refer to Importing TLS or SSL certificate for the SMTP Server for more information.
  1. In the application bar, click the Manage menu.
  2. In the Administration section, click the Manage SMTP link.
    The Manage SMTP window opens.
  3. In the Manage SMTP window, under SMTP Settings, enter the following details:
    • Server Name SMTP server name
    • Encryption Type SSL, TLS, or NONE
      Note:
      • The following communicatiom methods are supported:
        • SSL: SMTPS
        • TLS: STARTTLS

        When you select SSL or TLS, make sure you enter the username and password.

      • When you select NONE, you can skip entering a username and password. If you provide an SMTP server username and password, the email is authenticated.
    • PortSMTP server port number
    • User SMTP server user name
    • Password User password
  4. In the Email Settings section, provide the following details:
    • Server URL Included as part of the notification email, which notifies the recipient that the alert was received from that URL. The recipient can click the URL to view the report in Analyzer detail view.
    • Sender Email ID Email account from which messages are sent to recipients.
    • Max Size of attachment in MB The attachment limit for a notification is 10 MB. If the limit is exceeded, the message is sent without an attachment.
  5. Click Send Test Email.
    The Send test mail window opens.
  6. In the Receive Email ID field, enter the recipient email account. The test message is sent to the specified email account.
  7. Check the inbox to verify that the recipient has received the test email.
  8. Click Save.
