You can add local and Active Directory users in the administrator or normal user group.
- In the application bar, click the Manage menu.
- In the Manage window, in the Administration section, click the Manage Users link.
- In the Manage Users window, click Add User.

Add User window, select the
User Type as
Local User or
Active Directory User.
The following table describes the user access rights (permissions). The access rights (permissions) are based on the administrator and normal groups assigned to a user type.Yes indicates that the user has access rights (permissions).No indicates that the user does not have access rights (permissions).
- Local User: Provide the appropriate information in each field:
- User ID and Password To log on to the Analyzer detail view and Analyzer probe. The user ID cannot include greater than and less than signs (< >), Square brackets ([ ]), spaces, double quotation mark ("), colon (:), and ampersand (&).
- First Name and Last Name
- Email Address Email address of the user.
- Group Select
the group to which the user is to be assigned: Note: This list is displayed only for the Analyzer detail view. The Analyzer probe supports only the administrator group.
- Administrator The user with administrator rights (permissions) has access to all features of the Analyzer detail view and Analyzer probe.
- Normal
The user with normal rights (permissions) has access to

following features in the Manage
menu:
- Authentication Token
- Download SNMP MIB File
- Manage Active Directory Groups (View only access)
- Manage Email Groups
- Manage SMTP
- Manage SNMP
- Manage Syslog
- Manage Thresholds
- Manage Users: Access to edit the email address, locale, and password.
- Show Schema
- Custom Reports
- Locale Only U.S. English locale is supported.
- Active Directory User: Provide the appropriate information in each field:
- User ID You must set the User ID (with the
fully qualified domain name) for an active directory in one of the
following formats:
- FQDN\user-name
Example: corp.company\smith
- user-name@FQDN
Example: smith@corp.company
- FQDN\user-name
- You must use the host name as the domain controller name.
- Email Address If there is a technical problem, email is sent to that email address.
- Group Select
the group to which the user is to be assigned: Note: This list is displayed only for the Analyzer detail view. The Analyzer probe supports only the administrator group.
- Administrator The user with administrator rights (permissions) has access to all the features of Analyzer detail view, except changing the password of an active directory user.
- Normal
The user with normal rights (permissions) has access to
Analyzer detail view and the
following features in the Manage
menu:
- Authentication Token
- Manage Active Directory Groups (View only access)
- Manage Email Groups
- Manage SMTP
- Manage Syslog
- Manage Thresholds
- Manage Users: Access to edit the email address and locale.
- Show Schema
