You can set the Dashboard view to show traffic light indicators or a heat map.

To view the details of a violation, click the indicator icon.

The dashboard dock is available on every node in the resource tree, and it contains the dashboard widgets from all of the subnodes. You can view the indicators added by the other users, and you can select these indicators to appear on the dashboard.

Indicator view

The Indicator view provides an overall score of each resource, along with the health assessment of its components using traffic light indicators. In the Indicator view, the health score is expressed as a percent value.

In addition to the high-level resource, each of its components is assigned a score and an indicator. The score is the total number of threshold violations. You can hover over the score to view details of the Critical and Warning threshold violations.

The indicator for each component is determined by the proportion of critical and warning threshold violations for each component. The Critical threshold violations have a greater (negative) effect on the Indicator than Warning threshold violations.

At a high level, the indicators represent the following:
  • GreenRepresents a score above 70%.

Overall, the resource is healthy. The resource and its components rarely violate Critical or Warning thresholds.

  • AmberRepresents a score above 50% but below 70%.

Indicates the resource is reasonably healthy but the user is cautioned to monitor this resource closely. The resource and its components occasionally violate Critical or Warning thresholds.

  • Red Represents a score below 50%.

Indicates that the resource is not healthy and might require immediate attention. The resource and its components frequently violate Critical or Warning thresholds.

The following factors influence the indicator scores:
  • The frequency of thresholds violation. A large number of thresholds leads to a lower score. The number of Critical threshold violations affects the indicator score more than the number of Warning threshold violations.
  • The intensity of the threshold violations is the magnitude of the violation each time it occurs. A violation of a Critical or Warning threshold by a greater margin has a higher effect on the score.

Heat map view

The heat map view displays resource health using a miniature graph of any violations of critical and warning thresholds. The values in this view (except for the display) are equal to those in the Indicators view.
