You can create custom indicators and specify criteria like resource, metrics, and thresholds at the Group level node in the resource tree.

Example

  1. In the Dashboard view, click on the dashboard bar.
The Manage Indicators window opens. The default indicators are disabled (and cannot be removed), but you can use the Show option to control which indicators are displayed.

Note: If you click on an Instance level node (rather than the Group), the window is named View Indicators and all the buttons are disabled except Close.
  2. To add additional indicators, click Add Indicator.
  3. In the Add Indicator window, enter the following details:
    • Name A unique name for the specific target. This appears as a column name on the dashboard.
    • Selected Node Shows the node to which indicators are added.
    • Select Resource Select a resource from the list to view all the subnodes.
    • Select Subpath Select one or more subpaths. In the example, LDEVs is one of the subnodes of VSP G/VSP F/VSP E node. However, the LDEV (source) is connected to the VSP G/VSP F/VSP E (target) through multiple paths in the subtree of the VSP G/VSP F/VSP E node. In the Select Subpaths box, list all such paths.
    • Select Metric(s) Choose the metrics, and then select from the list of Indicator Thresholds. If no thresholds are defined, you can create new ones by selecting Add new threshold.
