Resolving the SMTP connection

Before configuring the SMTP server, verify if the Analyzer detail view server can resolve the SMTP host name.

1. Log on to the Analyzer detail view server through an SSH client (like putty) as a root user.
2. Verify if the Analyzer detail view server can resolve the SMTP host name, using the following command:

   nslookup hostname

3. If you cannot resolve the domain name, then add an entry of the following form to the /etc/hosts file:

   ipaddress hostname
