Output example
The following explains BCM GUI logs.
BCM GUI logs are output to the file with the pathname specified in the logfile parameter in the log bcmapi section of the BCM GUI configuration file in the following format:
output-date output-time log-text
output-date: yyyy-mm-dd
output-time: hh:mm:ss,nnn
log-text: One of the following is output:

The method for z/OSMF REST API or BCM Web API requests, the URI, and the request body

The error message displayed when a z/OSMF REST API or BCM Web API request is executed

The cliname key value and the rc key value in the BCM Web API response

Value of the gui section of the BCM GUI configuration file

Response data returned when a z/OSMF REST API or BCM Web API is executed (when True is specified for the verbose option of the BCM GUI configuration file)
Log files are rotated daily and stored for up to 10 days. The rotated files are named by appending the date to the pathname specified in the logfile parameter.
Example of the name of a rotated file when bcmapi.log is specified as the pathname: bcmapi.log.2025-03-15
