Copy group monitor operation frame

After the BCM GUI starts, the dashboard tab appears, as shown below. The operation frame for starting and stopping the BCM Web API server and copy group monitoring, and the copy group dashboard frame are displayed.

Clicking the Display thresholds button displays the Thresholds of copy group dashboard items threshold table that shows threshold values of the items displayed on the dashboard, as shown below.

Use this frame to start and stop the BCM Web API server and copy group monitoring.

Button name

What happens when the button is clicked

BCM Web API server

Start

When the BCM Web API server is not running, clicking this button connects to z/OSMF, starts the TSO/E address space, and starts the BCM Web API server. This button turns green when the BCM Web API server starts normally, and turns red when it does not start normally.

When connecting, if the cert key or the value of the cert key is not specified (when a client certificate is not used) in the zosmf section in the configuration file, the z/OS password entry dialog box appears.

End

When the system is in the process of monitoring, clicking this button stops the process, ends the BCM Web API server and the TSO/E address space, and ends the connection from z/OSMF.

The "BCM Web API server" changes to the same color as the background.

Monitor interval

Start

When the system is not in the process of monitoring ("Monitor interval" is not green or yellow), clicking this button starts the BCM Web API server if it is not running. When there is at least one copy group loaded, the monitoring processing will start and ("Monitor interval" will turn green, indicating that monitoring is continuing). Monitoring is performed repeatedly at the specified intervals.

If monitoring is scheduled to stop ("Monitor interval" is yellow), the system continues the monitoring process.

Stop

When the system is in the process of monitoring ("Monitor interval" is green), clicking this button will stop the monitoring processing and ("Monitor interval" will turn yellow). When the monitoring cycle is complete, the monitoring processing ends ("Monitor interval" turns to the background color).

Once

Clicking this button starts the BCM Web API server if it is not running. When there is at least one copy group loaded, the monitoring processing will start, and the monitoring cycle will run once. "Monitor interval" will turn yellow, indicating that the monitoring processing will stop.

Dashboard frame

The dashboard frame displays an overview of the results of copy group monitoring.

Clicking the start button for BCM Web API server resets the background color.

When you click the start button for Monitor interval, or when you select load in the cgpopUp menu, this item turns green if the copy group is loaded successfully, and turns red if fails.

Pair state

OK

All copy pairs are in the intended copy pair status.

WARN

There is a copy pair that can change to the intended copy pair status when there is no pair of ERR status.

ERR

There is a copy pair in a status that cannot change to the intended copy pair status (value of Pair state goto).

N/A

  • There is a pair whose copy pair status cannot be acquired.
  • The intended copy pair status is not set.
  • The copy group cannot be loaded.

Pair matching%

OK

The pair matching rate of the copy group has reached or exceeded the pair matching rate warning threshold.

WARN

The pair matching rate of the copy group is below the pair matching rate warning threshold.

N/A

  • The pair matching rate cannot be acquired.
  • There are no copy pairs in the PENDING or DUPLEX status in the copy group.
  • The copy group cannot be loaded.

ATTIME suspend

OK

The copy pairs are suspended because the ATTIME suspend time has passed. Alternatively , ATTIME suspend was executed because no I/O was detected.

WARN

Suspend has not been executed even though an ATTIME suspend time is set.

ERR

An ATTIME suspend was executed due to a timeout.

N/A

  • No ATTIME suspend time is set.

  • There is no ATTIME information.

C/T delta

OK

The C/T delta for all journal groups in the copy group is below or equal to the C/T delta warning threshold.

WARN

In the copy group, there is a journal group that has exceeded the C/T delta warning threshold, but is below or equal to the C/T delta abnormal threshold, when there is no pair of ERR status.

ERR

In the copy group, there is a journal group that has exceeded the C/T delta abnormal threshold.

N/A

  • In the copy group, there is a journal group that cannot get the C/T delta, when there is no pair of ERR status.

  • Both the C/T delta abnormal threshold and the C/T delta warning threshold are not set.

  • The copy group cannot be loaded. Alternatively, the copy group is not a Universal Replicator.

Journal usage

OK

The journal usage rate for all journal groups in the copy group is below or equal to the warning threshold.

WARN

In the copy group, there is a journal group that has exceeded the journal usage warning threshold, but is below or equal to the journal usage abnormal threshold, when there is no pair of ERR status.

ERR

In the copy group, there is a journal group that has exceeded the journal usage abnormal threshold.

N/A

  • In the copy group, there is a journal group that cannot get journal usage information, when there is no pair of ERR or WARN status.

  • Both the journal usage abnormal threshold and the journal usage warning threshold are not set.

  • The copy group cannot be loaded. Alternatively, the copy group is not a Universal Replicator.

Threshold table

This table shows the threshold values of items displayed on the dashboard.

Clicking Display thresholds button displays or hides the threshold values.

Pair state goto

Expected pair state. The display of pair state depends on this value. If you do not want to monitor pair status, specify N/A.

  • After a copy pair operation, the pair is updated to the intended status according to the operation.

  • Clicking the BCM Web API server start button resets the status to N/A.

Note: After performing actions in the copy group action menu and pair action menu, the value specified for Pair state goto in the option dialog box will overwrite the existing value (excluding the following situations: when locate, load, or the CANCEL button in the option dialog box is clicked, when the YKQUERY error occurs in SELECT(COND), and when a session error occurs).

If you double click a displayed value, you can change the value for the threshold.

After the following dialog box appears, enter or select a value. Clicking OK updates the threshold value.

If you enter an invalid value, the following error dialog box appears.
