You can use the following methods to perform user authentication for
z/OSMF:

Authentication by using a client certificate
Generate a client certificate in z/OS, send the certificate to the PC that runs the BCM GUI, and then specify the path name of the client certificate for the cert parameter in the BCM GUI configuration file. For details on how to generate and install a client certificate, see User authentication.

Authentication by using a password
A client certificate is not required. In this method, each time you start the BCM Web API server from the GUI window, you need to enter the password for the user ID of a z/OS user who can use z/OSMF and Business Continuity Manager.
