Use the following guidelines and suggested steps to help resolve Ethernet switch onboarding issues.
- Condition 1:
- Onboarding of an Ethernet switch intermittently fails with the following error: Unable to register the ethernet switch with management IP <switch address>. Verify the login information and connection to the ethernet switch. UCP Advisor gateway logs show the error "msg":"max sessions reached".
- What it Means
- A maximum of 2 sessions are allowed per Cisco switch. If the switch is being used by multiple people and it crosses over two sessions, then onboarding of the switch may fail with the above error.
- Corrective Action
- Close the existing sessions and retry onboarding of the switch again.
