Firmware bundles must be uploaded to UCP Advisor before you can upgrade the firmware on your devices. The firmware bundle list retains only one firmware bundle at a time for each device type.
- DS_compute07102024.zip: Contains firmware for the DS120/DS220/DS225/DS240 and DS120 / DS220 G2 server models.
- HA_compute07102024.zip: Contains firmware for the HA800 series server models.
- Switch07102024.zip: Contains firmware for the Ethernet and Fibre Channel switches.
When you upload a firmware bundle to a UCP system with a local gateway, it is also copied to all the remote gateways to keep them synchronized. The firmware bundle is stored in the /var/ucpadvisor/firmware/bundle folder of each remote gateway to reduce the firmware upgrade time of the devices on the remote gateway.
Uploading the firmware bundle takes about fifteen minutes. Synchronization with the remote gateways occurs simultaneously in batches of three, which also takes fifteen minutes per batch. If you add a new remote gateway while the synchronization is still in progress or after it has completed, the firmware bundle will be synchronized the next time you upgrade the firmware.
The Upgrade Firmware option will be disabled if there are no firmware bundles uploaded to UCP Advisor.
- Download the respective firmware bundles for your version of the UCP Advisor software from the Hitachi Support Connect portal. A Hitachi login credential is required.
- To upgrade server I/O card firmware, you must have the server BMC and ESXi details onboarded in the UCP Advisor inventory and you must have the ESXi host added to the vCenter inventory.
