You can change the UCP system model type from hyperconverged to rack-scale to add storage devices.
When you configure a hyperconverged UCP system, the storage icon is disabled because this system does not include storage systems. However, if you later determine that you want to add a storage system, you can do so by changing the UCP system type to rack-scale. After you make this change, all the existing devices, and the system serial number are migrated from the hyperconverged system to the rack-scale system.
- Log on to UCP Advisor and then browse to the UCP hyperconverged system that you want to change to a rack-scale system. For example, Demo-Test.Note: Note that the storage device icon is disabled for this system.
- From the Actions menu, click Edit System.
- From the Model list, select UCP RS, and then click Submit.Note: You can also modify any other information, as needed.
You can verify the details of the UCP system type change on the Tasks console.
When the task is complete, the UCP system type is changed from hyperconverged to rack-scale, and all of the devices are migrated. The storage device icon becomes active and you can begin to add storage devices to the new rack-scale system.
