You can view general and summary information for the storage systems configured in your UCP system. You can also manage storage system resources.

To view the storage system inventory:

  1. Browse to the UCP system where you want to view the storage system inventory, and then select Storage to display the basic information for each storage system.

    To refresh the storage device list of a UCP system, click the Refresh Storage Devices icon.

  2. Select a storage system to view its summary information. Additional information and management actions are available from the different tabs.

    The following information is displayed:

    Status
    The current status of the storage system.
    Physical Capacity
    The amount of used space and available space on the storage system.
    Note: * VSP Fx00 models and VSP Gx00 models do not support the display of physical capacity.
    Pool Capacity
    The amount of used space and available space in the storage pool on the storage system.
    Model
    The model of the storage system.
    Address
    The IP address of the storage system.
    Remote Syslog Server
    The IP address of the vRealize Log Insight instance that you have attached to the UCP system.
    Serial Number
    The serial number of the storage system.
    Firmware
    The current firmware version for the storage system.

    Available on:
    • VSP Fx00 models*
    • VSP Gx00 models*
    • VSP N400, N600, N800
    • VSP 5100, 5500, 5100H, 5500H
    • VSP E990
    • VSP E1090
    • VSP One B24
    • VSP One B26
    • VSP One B28
    * VSP G200, G400, G600, G800 and VSP F400, F600, F800 do not support this feature.

    Storage Efficiency Statistics view

    Data Reduction Ratio
    The ratio of logical used capacity to the physical used capacity, for all compression and deduplication technologies.
    Provisioning Efficiency (%)
    The efficiency ratio achieved by Dynamic Provisioning.
    Snapshot Efficiency Ratio
    The efficiency ratio achieved by snapshot.
    Total Efficiency Ratio
    The ratio of the total saving effect achieved by accelerated compression, capacity saving (compression and deduplication), snapshot, and Dynamic Provisioning.
    Start Time
    The start date and time for the calculation. The date and time are displayed in UTC.
    End Time
    The end date and time for the calculation. The date and time are displayed in UTC.
    Accelerated Compression
    FMD Compression Ratio
    The capacity compression ratio before and after accelerated compression.
    FMD Pattern Matching Ratio
    The capacity reduction ratio before and after accelerated compression pattern matching.
    FMD Saving Ratio
    Ratios regarding accelerated compression saving.
    Deduplication Compression
    Software Compression Ratio
    The capacity compression ratio before and after capacity saving.
    Software Deduplication Ratio
    The capacity deduplication ratio before and after capacity saving.
    Software Pattern Matching Ratio
    The capacity reduction ratio before and after capacity saving pattern matching.
    Software Saving Ratio
    The capacity reduction ratio before and after capacity saving.
    Storage Events
    A list of events and errors is displayed below the summary information that helps to determine the health of the storage system.
    Note: Supported on the following storage systems only: VSP G130, VSP G150, VSP F350, VSP G350, VSP F370, VSP G370, VSP F700, VSP G700, VSP F900, VSP G900, VSP E590, VSP E790, VSP E990, VSP E1090, VSP One B24, VSP One B26, and VSP One B28
  3. Click the Refresh icon to update the list information.
    Note: The storage device information is automatically refreshed every hour, by default. However, you can configure the refresh time interval. See Configuring storage devices refresh time.
